Teeth Whitening

Your naturally white tooth enamel can be stained by lots of different factors. Food, tobacco or drinks such as coffee, tea or wine can have darken the colour of your teeth.

Professional tooth whitening can lift and remove stains and brighten your smile, leaving you radiant and more confident.

What kinds of whitening are available?

In-surgery whitening

In-surgery whitening, also known as laser whitening or zoom bleaching. We do not currently offer this service.

Home whitening

We offer home bleaching using the Boutique whitening system, at a cost of £250. This is done by you at home, and the process takes several weeks.

We make an impression of your teeth and then create custom fitted plastic trays. We provide a whitening gel which you then use with the trays on your teeth. The time of day / night when you wear the tray may vary, and process can take up to 6 weeks to complete.

You will notice a significant whitening effect with teeth that are several shades lighter. The effects may not be as striking as the in-surgery techniques.

How long will my teeth stay white?

The effects should last up to three years, although this will vary from person to person. The effect will last longer if you refrain from smoking or eating or drinking products that can stain your teeth. You should ask your dentist's opinion before you begin treatment.

What are the side effects?

Some people may find their teeth become a little more sensitive to cold after professional whitening treatment. Others have reported discomfort in the gums, a sore throat or white patches on the gum line.

These symptoms are usually temporary and should disappear within a few days of the treatment finishing. If any symptoms continue you should consult your dentist.
